University: Key Dates


Below are the key dates in University applications cycles.

Key Dates for 2024 Entries

30 June – Last date for receipt of applications with choices. After this date all applications will automatically go into clearing 

4 July – UCAS Extra closes 

5 July – Clearing opens and vacancies are shown in the UCAS search tool. 

Key Dates for 2025 entries 

02 May 2024 – You can now use UCAS’ search tool to look for courses that start in 2025. It’s important to check for any updates here, entry requirements might have changed. 

16 May 2024 – Undergraduate applications can now be completed and sent to your advisor. It’s important to spend some time going through this application and follow my key points for success on this. 

05 Sept 2024 – From this date UCAS applications can be approved and sent onto UCAS. The sooner you can get your application in the sooner you can start to get offers. 

02 Oct 2024 6pm UK time – This is the early deadline for any musical or drama courses. They have an earlier deadline to fit in all audition interviews. 

16 Oct 2024 6pm UK time – This is the deadline for any application to Oxford & Cambridge or any medicine/dentistry/veterinary courses. This is really important to meet this deadline if you are wanting to access any of these courses. 

31 Jan 2025 6pm UK time – The deadline for equal consideration. This means things like full courses should not affect your application. You need to make sure your reference is completed by your advisor too before it is approved and submitted. 

28 Feb 2025 – Extra opens. If you have used all your 5 choices and are not holding any offers you can now access one more choice using your original application. 

30 Jun 2025 – The last day for applications to be sent to universities & colleges. From this date any application that is sent is automatically sent through to clearing. 

04 Jul 2025 – This is the last date to add an extra choice. After this extra is closed. 

05 Jul 2025 – Clearing is open! This is definitely a first come first serve service so if this is something you are going to access you will need to be quick
